Uploaded a new version and polished a load of stuff! Dialogue and crafting system all the nodes on every map... Lot's of work but glad to have something more like I intended the game to be at release.
Still bug squishing and play testing but am excited to get a better game out there finally!
Having a great time with this game. There is so much to it. Just wanted to pass on a couple errors. One, the little red mimic chests in the game will attack again if you interact after defeating it. Not sure if just one of them do or they all do.
Second, there is an exit in the hills thats transfer location is on top of a tree tile. Here are screen shots of where it happens.
Changed the fonts and added HUDs for hunger, exhaustion, HP and day-night. All of which work as intended now.
Reworked the entire crafting and harvesting system just to make it less grindy and more user friendly.
Reworked the random numbers for most things. Less failure chance and more of the loot you actually need to progress.
Added journals that tell the story of previous island inhabitants and there are several endings based on the amount of secrets you discover on the island.
Gave the new version a go and I am quite impressed with the map of the island! Was quite fun exploring to find the skeletons and caves for treasure. The added HUD works well too!
A few things I came by:
- At the end, I couldn't leave while sailing on the raft as it keeps saying I need to get the captain (which is in my party already).
- You can endlessly search broken barrels and crates for infinite items!
- I'm not sure if the repair system is still in for the makeshift tools? The only option is to craft them again with the captain.
- The game doesn't seem to count the raw meat from chickens when trying to cook at the fireplace.
- There's a cave around the NW of the map near the beach I couldn't enter.
- I couldn't climb up a ladder I built in a dungeon in the NW dropping down a hole.
- There's a dungeon puzzle with throwing rocks at buttons which I got stuck on (not sure if 1 button is missing?).
- I can't seem to use the 3rd tactics skill. I was using a pirate cutlass I found.
I hope these things help. Had a lot of fun playing this!
Thank you for the notes. 2 of those bugs I discovered directly after uploading. I will try for another upload by next weekend. If I can figure out how to use itch.io's "butler" software I'll upload a patch so your saves will still work as well.
